Okay, SA is working but was about the routing.  Did it ever pass through SA?  Were there SA headers in the original message?  Did SA timeout because the machine is overloaded and just return the original email back to the MTA chain?
 
Granted SA thinks its spam but did SA ever get a chance to see it?

Yes, I got a hold of one and it score 24 points using 'spamassassin -t'
and considered spam as only 5 points were required, but ended up in my
inbox. I am running amavisd-new with Postfix, how do I tell if
spamassassin is even working?
