I wish it was that, but I have MySQL running on another machine and it has been up all this time. I can connect to it fine if I start spamd from the command line, just not from init.d.

Can you show us (or if it's big, email it directly to me) the start up order (ls -l /etc/rc3.d/S*) and the script you are using to start SA.
