This may be of interest to any of you Tapestry folks using Adobe Photoshop
Elements to organise your photos.

I have been wanting a way to share photos organised using the Photoshop
Elements Organizer, without needing to spend time or money going through a
3rd party service. HelpYourself is the result and is a Tapestry based Java
web application front-end for your entire Photoshop Elements catalog.

I've just put the first public version up on google code under the GPL.
Although this is the first public release it has been through 20 or so
internal releases so far and is actually version 0.9.11a - I've been using
it personally for just on a year now, with 0.9.11 in use for about half that
- it's not flawless or polished, but it's pretty stable now.

Note that this is a web application you run yourself, not a service with
limits (or charges).

You can find out more (incl features, requirements etc) at:
http://code.google.com/p/helpyourself/

There's a discussion group which is probably the best place to, well,
discuss:
http://groups.google.com/group/helpyourself-discuss

There's no real documentation at this stage - my next task is to document
getting it up and running, but the quick version is:
check it out, use "ant dist" to build (you'll need to set ${tomcat.dir} to
compile), put the helpyourself.war file in tomcat's webapps dir, browse to
localhost:8080/helpyourself/app, and hit the "Configure" link - if your
catalog is in the default place you won't have to configure much, though you
might want to enable some of the security settings.

There's plenty of work yet to be done, so by releasing it as open
source, the hope is to get some more eyes and help. Happy to hear any
thoughts (on the helpyourself-discuss group).

Richard
