When I tried to a project with the 4.1.6 release, maven gives me this error:
[WARNING] POM for 'org.apache.tapestry:tapestry-annotations:pom:4.1.6:compile' is invalid. It will be ignored for artifact resolution. Reason: Not a v4.0.0 POM. for project org.apache.tapestry:tapestry-annotations at C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\poops\.m2\repository\org\apache\tapestry\tapestry-annotations\4.1.6\tapestry-annotations-4.1.6.pom
