Yes, basically the exception is a compile exception saying the following
"could not be resolved": 

import org.hibernate.Session; 


And, finally, I also tried this: 

    <dependency>
            <groupId>org.apache.tapestry</groupId>
            <artifactId>tapestry-hibernate</artifactId>
            <version>${tapestry-release-version}</version>
            <exclusions>
             <exclusion>  
              <groupId>org.apache.tapestry</groupId>
                  <artifactId>tapestry-hibernate-core</artifactId>
                 </exclusion> 
           </exclusions>
        </dependency>
