Installing Linux or FreeBSD does not solve all problems by it self. Linux is fine when you know how to work around it, if you do not know anything about linux, you are better off with windows.
I suggest the ISAPI_redirector is not configured correctly. I have few old (and some very old) pages on the subject on my website, but to my knowledge they still work.
