I think hibernate supports JTA and JDBC? Ok, JDBC isn't J2EE since 3.0
but was before. (Actually it should become J2EE in 4.0, but this was
changed).
But JTA is J2EE as well as JMX, isn't it?

But actually it doesn't play a role..., just another crutch to keep
relational databases in business :-)
