In case of an error this line will print errno as a negative number.

More precisely:

#if defined(WIN32) || (defined(NETWARE) && defined(__NOVELL_LIBC__))
...
                errno = WSAGetLastError() - WSABASEERR;
...
#endif
...
do some read from network
...
            return (errno > 0) ? -errno : errno;

On Solaris errno 60 is ENOSTR. You need to check, what errno 60 is on your platform.
