It sounds like you are trying to start one of the tomcat .exe files instead of the Linux shell script.

I can assure you that Tomcat itself does not attempt to launch wine. You should check your webapp to see if it's configured to do anything like that. Or, maybe you have a script called from Tomcat that attempts to launch wine.
