If there's value in doing so, certainly. But customizability generally comes at 
a cost. In addition to a more complicated implementation it tends to increase 
the potential for problems. Thus, one should assess the actual benefit of each 
new knob, they should weigh it against the consequences, and they should do so 
honestly.
