How did you install Tomcat? The correct way is to 1. Download "binary" archive for latest version from http://tomcat.apache.org/ 2. It was removed 7 years ago (r507751) Check what libraries are installed with Tomcat and what libraries are contained in your web application. Either the web application is messed up (e.g. it bundles libraries that Tomcat already contains, causing conflicts), or your configuration of Tomcat itself.
