Most applications don't care one way or another which connector is being used. What is it about the APR connector that your application is so reliant upon?
For "most applications", simply switching from the APR connector to the NIO connector is a matter of changing (or removing) the protocol attribute in the <Connector> and that's about it.
Are you using Tomcat in such a way that the application/environment is super sensitive to the fact that APR is in use? The benefits that APR provides have largely been overcome with newer tech, which is why it's being dropped from Tomcat in favor of that new tech.
