To monitor tomcat I current have a script in a crontab that checks an URL every 5 minutes. This works quite well except during the redeploiement... Tomcat throws an error 404 but the detailed message says that the application is not available. Would there be a way to throw a different error code during redeploiment so that my script won't restart tomcat?
