Apache 2.2.3 Tomcat 5.5.20 - mod_jk or proxy?

Hi!

Which connector is the most relevant to use with Apache 2.2.3 and Tomcat 
5.5.20? Is it mod_jk or is it proxy?

And how do I use the most relevant with Apache 2.2.3 and Tomcat 5.5.20? 
(compile and implementation samples wanted if possible).
