Oh, I should have mentioned that my task at the moment is installing and administrating an existing Tomcat-based application. There are a few problems with that, and often I do not understand if these are problems with the application configuration or with the Tomcat configuration. Part of that is that I have, to say the least, very little understanding of basic Tomcat concepts yet.

So, I am less interested in how to make servlets and JSPs at the moment, and much more in understanding Tomcat concepts and how they are reflected in the Tomcat configuration.

Anyway, thanks for your help and Gregor's; I think I'll get the Brittain/Darwin book and see what I can make of it. The faster the better, considering the meeting I just emerged from. :-/
