Hello,

i updated several Apaches from 2.2.4 to 2.2.6. On the one hand i updated
Apache but i also updated OpenSSL from 0.9.8.d to 0.9.8.e.

The problem is that the Server-Info-Tag which is written in the ErrorLog
of the Apache sometimes contains special characters, sometimes not.

For example in one Error-Log i can find the following:

[Fri Sep 28 12:07:43 2007] [notice] Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.6
\x02 mod_jk/1.2.25 configured -- resuming normal operations.

Why is "\x02" written in the Logfile?

On an another Apache (same OS, same update process) i can find the
following in the Errorlog:

[Fri Sep 28 10:03:18 2007] [notice] Apache/2.2.6 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.6
\xb0\x0c:\bSSL/\x10\x91n\b\xc8\x02:\bP\xfc9\bb 20
\x91n\b\x18\xf39\b\xa0\xec9\bssl/0\x91
n\b\xa0\xe29\b(\xdc9\bssl/@\x91n\b\x10\xd39\b\x98\xcc9\bSSL/P\x91n\b\xa8
\xc29\b0\xbc9\bSSL/`\x91n\b\b\xb39\b\x90\xac9\bSSL/p\x91n\b\xa0\xa29\b(\
x9c9\bSSL/\x80
\x91n\b mod_jk/1.2.25 configured -- resuming normal operations

Does somebody have an idea? Is it possible to change the Server-Info-Tag
or just to cut the special characters?

The problem is, that requests to these servers are blocked by the
firewall because of the several special characters in the
Server-Info-Tag.

Thanks in advance for your help!
