Hi, 

Are you sure that the original UTF-8 source file doesn't 
have a BOM in it?  native2ascii will not strip that BOM 
from the input file.  

Also, if you edit either file with an editor such as 
Notepad, it will include a BOM.

will see what other people were complaining.
