Thanks a lot for everyone who has replied.

Hi Partha,

I have tried running the command chmod 777 /usr/local
but it didn't allow me to change the permissions. It said I have Read-only
permission.
I am trying to access a remote server which is set up on a windows box
through
Secure Shell Client(SSH).

I am logged in as root.

Please provide some pointers.

Thanks and Regards,
Partha.
