So you must be able to configure the plugin :
<configuration>
<warSourceDirectory>target/${artifactId}-${version}</warSourceDirectory>
will be better with
<warSourceDirectory>${project.build.outputDirectory}/${artifactId}-${version}</warSourceDirectory>
