For JPA 2.1 yes, that said I'm not yet fully convinced it can be
needed for something else than geek reasons ;)

About DS: no link to CDI so why DS? :p. Then issue doing before before
specs is there is often a mismatch afterwards and you managed to use
EE to get vendor locked :) (see @Tx for instance)
