I wonder if it's lock contention. There are still a good number of hits but 
they seem somewhat random. It would be interesting to see what the Age: value 
for those hits are, whether it's missing on something that's really in the 
cache or re-fetching it. You might try turning on read_while_write and see if 
that makes a difference.
