Good question, pretty much javascript work. I'm curios know your final solution.
One fine solution is to create an subclass of AjaxFormComponentUpdatingBehavior to onchange event. On this behavior you can put your javascript rules. Take a look at OnChangeAjaxBehavior to see how it could be done.
