Hi,
I do exactly what you require in a SortableDataProvider. The provider
can access the session's locale and use the translated values to sort
its data. The post at
http://apache-wicket.1842946.n4.nabble.com/Sorting-a-column-populated-through-pupulateItem-method-tp1877340p1877343.html
gives some pseudo-code equivalent to what I use.

Hi all,
i am working on applicatation that must support multiple languages. I am
using a AjaxFallbackDefaultDataTable and PropertyColumns to represent the
data on the screen.
I have an Enum objects that must be translated before they are shown. When
i try to sort it, the original data is sorted and not the translated
content.
I have found two similar forum threads:
http://apache-wicket.1842946.n4.nabble.com/Sorting-a-column-populated-through-pupulateItem-method-td1877340.html
http://apache-wicket.1842946.n4.nabble.com/Localized-sorting-column-in-a-DefaultDatatable-td1885753.html
Is this the state of the art? Must i implement something additional and
what?
