Got what I want, but had to give up this approach :( Instead of adding more css-classes, I just added a label to the HeadersToolbar, to switch the ordering state via css background-image and doing my checks for grouptotals in HeadersToolbar.onConfigure() where an sumup-symbol is added as the new labels DataModelObject.
