See http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Code/Statistics The only drawback (and it's an important one) is that I've found that stats eat a lot of the performance. So you might want to try it and see if the performance degradation is acceptable in your case. We need to do some profiling to see how it could be improved.
