Indeed, I just tested on 7.3, but you can quickly fix it by editing the
XWiki.DocumentTreeConfig page with the wiki editor and replace

  'showRoot': false

with

  'showRoot': false,
  'limit': 15

(i.e. declare de 'limit' configuration parameter and its default value)
