Location- Herndon, VA SQL DBA, Term: 9 to 12 month contract, unlikely to go perm Flexible work schedule but should normally work 9 to 5, but as long as he/she puts in 40 hours there will not be a problem. Overtime unlikely but may occur. Main objective is to Overhaul/ Rebuild the production/accounting system. Currently on SQL 2000, company mandates them going to SQL 2005 or 2008. Preference to someone who can implement in SQL 2005 or 2008 and has done it in the past. Needs to be at least 2005 but 2008 would be a plus. Experience migrating data from old version to new. Experience reporting with Cognos A lot of what they are doing is sitting with the Accountants and being able to digest what they need and look at the existing process and find out how they can streamline or automate the process. Candidate will be pulling data and producing journal entries from the data to show their progress in a report. Training experience would be a plus as they will be relaying and teaching their automated processes to other Finance/Accounting employees. Telecom or Finance/Accounting experience is a Plus! Background check and drug check No travel and attire is business professional with casual on Fridays Beeline Job Description: Successful candidates must have good working knowledge of both SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008 and Cognos, be able to take direction from non-IT oriented Finance professionals, and work in an operational environment with demanding time constraints. Working in the Finance organization, support development of a new Revenue Accounting and Reporting data warehouse. Design tables, indexes, keys, and relationships, and necessary supporting documentation in SQL Server 2005 / SQL 2008. Developing data processing routines to import and maintain data integrity, including audits and control mechanism. Develop Cognos reporting meta-data layers to support reporting on the new data environment. Develop Revenue Accounting & Revenue Reporting base reports. Train finance personnel on management of data environment and report development.
