We have this *Informix COBOL Developer* position open with one of our client based out of *Austin**, TX* it is a* **6 month+ *of contract *Below is the complete job description. ** * *Only US Citizen, GC Holder, TN Visa Holder* *Position:* *Informix COBOL Developer* *Location*: *Austin**, TX* *Duration:* *6 month + contract* *Rate: Open* * * * * *Description:* * * *Description:* Our client is in the process of developing a case management application (ReHabWorks). A component of this project is to analyze the existing 'batch' applications and determine the most efficient way to insure they will accomplish the new business requirements. There are currently 4 Cobol programs and 8 store procedures that will need to be modified. The identified applications are written utilizing an Informix database. Informix will continue to be the database for ReHabWorks. The Scope-of-Work will be refined and augmented based on input from the awarded vendor. The awarded candidate and our client will develop and agree on a final Scope-of-Work that describes the scope, tasks and deliverables for this engagement. The Scope-of-Work could include, but is not limited to the following tasks listed below. The analysis, decision-making, and documentation activities shall be developed with assistance and input from key management and technical and other parties deemed appropriate by our client through meetings facilitated by the awarded candidate. A. Work with our client's team to analyze the identified Cobol programs and determine whether modifying the existing Cobol program or converting to a Stored Procedure will be the most efficient. B. All modifications to the existing applications shall adhere to our client's standard utilizing our client's standard architecture. * * *Required Skills:* - 4+ years - Experience in developing applications / queries using an Informix database. - 3+ years - Experience developing and maintaining Cobol programs. - 3 + years - Experience in developing and maintaining Informix Store Procedures. - Demonstrated Experience - Experience in reading Development Use Cases and applying the required changes to the existing application. - Demonstrated Experience - Experience analyzing existing Cobol programs to determine, based on the business requirements, if the program would be more efficient re-written in a stored procedure. - Demonstrated Experience - Working in a team environment - Demonstrated Experience - Successfully completing tasks under a tight deadline. - Demonstrated Experience - Experience in reading Development Use Cases and applying the required changes to the existing application. - Provide copy of certificate - BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required *Background Checks:* Instant SSN Trace Statewide Criminal Records Federal Search Motor Vehicle Records Search Patriot Act/OFAC/BXA/Terrorist list Search *Please feel up the skill matrix and revert ASAP. * Full Name Contact No. Full Address Email Id Visa Status Rate Willing to Travel(Y/N) Willing to Relocate(Y/N) Availability Employer Details/contact no.
