Overview: Data Center Management migration & consolidation SME are individuals who participate in a wide range of IT and operations related consulting engagements that may include data center migration strategy, planning and implementation as well as data center rationalization, optimization, consolidation or relocation activities. Data Center SME Must have prior exp Architecting & supporting Data Center consolidation or migration efforts. The consultant would require onsite time and remote support. The SME must have prior experience obtaining & gathering data, conducting interviews, meetings, etc. Job Requirements 1.Must have 5-10 year Solution architecting and forecasting exp such as understanding of the technical future trends and reliable cost forecasts of the coming 5-10 year technologies likely to be adopted. 2.Ability to analyze client environment including existing data center processes and technology o Specific areas of competency that would be helpful include 1.Virtualization 2.Storage Management 3.Backup and Recovery, 4.Archiving, 3.Thorough understanding of data center operations including production operations, server, storage, network, database management, systems management, help desk, DR/Business Recovery practices, etc. o Lead/participate in the analysis of a client's current IT and Operations environment and the anticipation of future needs o Provides SME knowledge as related to all aspects of Data Center environments related to Plan Build Manage o Articulates long-term goals and directions for Data Center related solutions o Rationalizes IT and Operations needs to reduce costs o Conducts Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to build business case for Consolidation and Virtualization ranging from Data Center to technology components. o Provides expert knowledge in solving complex technical and business issues in regards to Data Center, IT and Operations. 4.PRIOR EXP WITH DATA CENTER MIGRATION & CONSOLIDATION analysis will be given HIGHEST PRIORTY 5.Strong interpersonal skills; able to mentor other writers and provide guidance 6.General understanding of business environments 7.Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization. 8.Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be strong and effective communicator. 9.Good writing skills and ability to multi task in the support of this project.
