Dear Partners, Immediate need: Jr. Java Developer Location: San Jose,CA Duration: 6 months Absolutely required (please pre-screen before sending the candidates; they will be tested): · Very smart, good communication, outspoken, approachable for solution · Proficiency in Core Java ( J2SE ) OOP concepts · Comfortable in at least one scripting language such as Perl or Python · Comfortable with SQL, inner and outer joins, general good programming principles of good SQL writing (avoid full-table scan, etc) and in general database programming using JDBC · Love for XML and XSDs, various parsing technologies SAX/DOM, should know their pros and cons · General web development knowledge: Servlets, JSP, Struts, MVC, a bit of JavaScript, a bit of Ajax (just experimenting with it is enough) · A heart that bleeds upon seeing ugly, un-indented, un-commented, undocumented, no-quality code.
Preferable: · A go-getter attitude; ability to hit the ground running without much hand-holding; Don’t ask for a 1 week training course worth of $2500 or a book for writing a 50-line script that has to be delivered in 2 days; Instead, get to the “meat” of the problem quickly, do some googling, browse the forums, copy&paste some code and _get it working first_ , *deliver it on time* and then learn the rest by yourself around that code over the course of time. · Automatic code generation (aka Model Driven Programming) experience either from UML to Java and/or XSD to Java (via JAXB). · Any Rule based systems/Engine knowledge, any UML modeling experience · Ability to survive (if not thrive) on unix command line w/o any Graphical/IDE tools.
