Resposne with updated profile @ [email protected]<[email protected]> *Position: Oracle PL/SQL Engineer* *Location: can be either Sacramento or Cupertino* *Duration: 6-12m+ * *Job Description* The SQL Developer/Performance Analyst is responsible for assisting several teams with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL applications, including requirements gathering, data modeling, coding, testing and performance tuning during all phases of the software life cycle. This division provides enterprise level software solutions for manufacturing processes. The candidate should be comfortable with high volume OLTP as well as large data size OLAP environments. *Essential Duties & Responsibilities* 1. Effectively liaison between Development and DBA teams. 2. Develop and support complex SQL and PL/SQL used by Java Applications and batch scripts. 3. Review existing SQL code and make recommendations for SQL coding best practices to other developers for improved performance and scalability. 4. Assess Database architecture and make recommendations for improvements. 5. Track the status of assigned project tasks to insure timely completion, maintain communication with stakeholders regarding progress of work, and notify appropriate parties when open issues have been resolved. 6. Participate with the project teams in all stages of product development. 7. Identify opportunities for improving software development methods and procedures and communicate recommendations appropriately. *Competencies * Learns and adapts quickly to internal coding standards and processes. Extremely proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance analysis and optimization, including understanding of Exadata specific performance issues. Comfortable with working in Unix, understands and writes shell scripts. Visualizes complex processes to identify and analyze key issues and recommend appropriate solutions. Able to participate in development of project estimates, decision analysis, and project schedules. Effectively uses a systematic approach to analyze and solve problems. Acts proactively to anticipate risk and seeks to mitigate them before they occur. Visualizes the big picture and effectively identifies key issues and designs harmonious and effective solutions. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. Listens effectively, transmits information accurately and understandably, and actively seeks feedback. Effectively presents and explains information to others with various levels of knowledge.
