*Description:*

DEP is in need of an experienced Java Developer to work in the Bureau of
Information Technology (BIT) on multiple projects with in eGovernment Team.
 This team is responsible for new application development and providing
support and maintenance to existing systems (approximately 20). The
BIT/Java Team utilizes Agile and waterfall methodologies for application
development, and at times requires rapid timelines/deadlines which are
mandated by the legislation. Critical and complex projects include the
eWell for the Oil and Gas Bureau, Mining Subsidence Insurance, Chapter
110/Daily Water Withdrawal Reporting, Blaster permits, County Conservation
District Reporting, Radon Activity Reporting, Air Emission Statements,
Waste Management Form U Landfill Authorizations, Waste Transportation
Safety Program Authorization/Renewals, Drinking Water Electronic Lap
Reporting, Chapter 105 Joint Permit Application Review, Waste Management
Mobile support, Bureau of Radiation Mobile support, and various other
eGovernment reporting/permitting systems.

*Tasks to be accomplished:*

-      Understand the inner workings of the DEP’s Java Applications and
batch processes.
-      Understand the inner workings of DEP’s Greenport, the front end
authentication system for all eGovernment applications
-      Provide maintenance and support to over 20 applications.
-     Review selected documentation of the existing systems to become
familiar with the system requirements, functionality, and architecture,
reporting, etc.
-      Meet with end-users on new system requirements
-      Generate Requirements, Technical and Business Functional documents,
system documents, and assist in creating training and testing documents.
-      Profile and tune selected pieces of the system for better
maintainability and performance as necessary.
-      Provide mentoring and assistance as required for the transfer of
knowledge to Commonwealth IT staff.
-      Aid in production deployments of systems.
-      Provide weekly status updates to BIT team manager or other DEP
managers as requested

*Skills Required:*

5yrs exp with Java programming
3yrs exp with Oracle Database (11G and prior)
1+yrs exp with Oracle Application Server
5yrs exp with SQL*Plus
2yrs exp with PL/SQL
2yrs exp with Java, including STRUTS
2yrs exp with Javascript
2yrs exp with HTML (Desired)
2yrs exp with jDeveloper (Desired)
2yrs exp with Entity Relationship Modeling
3yrs exp with TOAD or SQL Developer (or equivalent)
2yrs exp with Web Services
1yr exp with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (Desired)

Questions:
Question 1
Absences greater than two weeks MUST be approved by CAI management in
advance, and contact information must be provided to CAI so that the
resource can be reached during his or her absence. The Client has the right
to dismiss the resource if he or she does not return to work by the agreed
upon date. Do you accept this requirement?

Position is 37.5 hours per week. Please confirm the resource is comfortable
with this.
Question 3
Position is located in downtown Harrisburg. The selected resource will be
responsible for own parking costs.
