We have a new opening within NYeC (Downtown NYC) And while in the past NYeC focused on .NET expertise, now their needs are for strong Java skills/experience. *Healthcare background is certainly preferred as well.* Our client is seeking a *Sr* *Software Engineer/Architect* who has an in-depth understanding of object oriented programming, web services, XML, and WSDL. Knowledge of UML, BPEL and SOA would be a plus. Good understanding of clinical information technology; its capabilities, limitations, and impact on clinical practice would be preferred. In addition, knowledge of the IHE framework and associated protocols is desirable. Architecture skills should include cross-application functionality ranging from Health Information Exchange, Enterprise Level Security, Master Data Management and exposure to creating APIs and Web services for third party development. *Responsibilities include but are not limited to:* · Defines technical solution requirements for the implementation of cross platform, integrated services in a complex statewide environment. The core platform is Health Information Exchange for collecting and leveraging clinical data. · Designs and implements a security framework supporting client's solutions · Develops and maintains technical diagrams, systems maps, code, and documentation using various tools, · With clinical advisory input, develops a tailoring strategy for workflows, screens, information model, protocols, decision support rules, and analytics usable by clinicians to impact performance on quality measures and financial metrics, · Designs decision support rules supporting patient care, clinical efficiency and quality measure improvement, · Reviews trends, experiences and approaches, develops technical and application implementation strategies, · Collaborates with customers and knowledge publishers, · Supports the development of solution sets that can be delivered as part of an SOA product and as service offerings, · Contributes expertise into the multi-generation product and services roadmap, · Contributes to the development of architecture and strategy, · Assists in designing and building software programs and the testing of the software modules, · Participates in customer and vendor meetings, · Provides advisory services across the organization. *Experience and Skills Required: * · BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
