Business Objects L1/L2 Administrator



*Basic Qualifications/Skills:*

o   Business Objects Administration skills

§  Management of Business Objects version 3 and 4 environments following
SAP standards in a windows environment

§  Perform documented maintenance tasks according to schedule

§  Experience in SAP and 3rd party tools supporting BO environments.

§  Understanding of BO Architecture

§  Experience with Import Wizard / Promotion Management Tool

§  Security access management by creating users/groups and folders

§  Creating Calendars, Events

§  Troubleshooting BO performance issues

§  Handling BO Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

§  Working with SAP

§  Fixing (as appropriate) failures related to scheduled jobs.



o   Strong problem-solving technical skills.  Ability to manage and
troubleshoot legacy applications

o   Good verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to write,
review and follow documentation. Proven skills in following escalation
procedures, tracking/ follow-up on open items

o   Ability to establish effective working relationships with users and
peers and perform assigned tasks with minimal direct supervision.

o   Experience supporting reporting application infrastructures. Working
knowledge of Windows Client and Server Operating systems, TCP/IP networking
including DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols, load balancing and clustering.


*Additional Preferred Qualifications/Skills:*

 o   Deployment/Implementation of BO environment

o   Exposure to PL/SQL query and Oracle databases, Exadata environment

o   Experience of JConsole, JMeter, Apache a plus

o   Experience of Business Objects SDK a plus

o   Basic Incident Management skills




*Primary and Secondary Responsibilities:*

o   Implement and manage Reporting Applications to support the day-to-day
operations for business reporting applications of the organization.

§  Administration of Reporting applications (  inclusive of legacy
applications) including configurations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
issues ( Tomcat servers, EPAR and Tableau infrastructure)

§  Perform documented maintenance tasks as per aligned schedule

§  Monitor ticket queue and assign tickets to appropriate resources. Follow
documentation and escalation routine. Track open items

§  Revision of documentation and knowledge bases to accommodate
process/procedure changes.

§  Provide technical support to client-based reporting users, including
troubleshooting client problems

§  Maintain an inventory of all reporting equipments (servers, storage
filers, job servers, etc.) and software licenses.

§  Work closely with local and remote staff, such as Server and Database
administrators and software developers, in supporting Reporting
Infrastructure

§  Proactively monitor system health for availability, stability and
performance issues. Attend to the system and application alerts from
automated scripts and follow appropriate process.
