Looking for a high level project manager.
6 months Salem, OR A contracted Project Manager 3 is needed in the short term for the Oregon Benefits On-line project under the Department of Human Services Modernization program. The Oregon Benefits On-line project was placed on hold in Fall 2013 and is preparing to restart. To ensure the contracted resource is able to be effective immediately in the project, we are seeking an individual with expert level project manager skills, background, experience, and the ability to do effective knowledge transfer in transitioning the project to a state project manager. Position may require early morning, late even in and possible weekend work to meet deadlines. Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. May require a bachelor's degree and 7 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of Contractor staff. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. DESIRED ATTRIBUTES • Certification in Project Management • Experience managing large complex multi-million dollar projects implementing COTS, developing custom software solutions, and organizational transformations. • Successful application of project management knowledge in ambiguous and unique circumstances while managing a cross-functional team with internal matrix resources and external contractors. • 5 years of PM experience in the last 7 years using project management best practices and standard methodologies, e.g. PEMBOK, PRINCE 2, etc. • Successful navigation of complex organization with occasionally loosely defined structure and boundaries. • Adept at recognizing and anticipating emerging project risks, business priorities, and addressing those developments through risk mitigation, contingency plans, and communication strategies. • Superior communication and interpersonal soft skills. • Demonstrated management experience in risk mitigation and project stewardship, i.e. given the constraints and budget, the client’s success criteria AND expectations are met, and project costs are controlled -- *Please only reply to my official ID sg...@sagetl.com <sg...@sagetl.com>* Sam (Saurabh Gaur) Sage Group Consulting Inc.
