Title: SAS Consultant

• Provide 2nd Line support services for core SAS solution

• Common SAS product knowledge

• SAS skills as per below role

• Data background preferred

• Support background preferred

• Retail background preferred

• Technical Bachelor or Master degree

• Working knowledge of Windows

• Persistent problem solver: capable to “think out of the box” when dealing
with complex problems and willing to dig deep into the technology until the
customer’s issue is solved

• Excellent customer interaction, taking into account different users with
various technical backgrounds

• Working with multiple 3rd parties

• Good knowledge of English.



Skills: 1) SAS Administrator to cover monitoring and system performance,

2) SAS BI (Reporting),

3) SAS DI (Data and ETL and Exports/post processes),

4) SAS MA (Campaigns),

5) SAS MOM (Planning Campaigns) and

6) SAS Enterprise Miner and Enterprise Guide (Analytics and Modelling)

There will be two types of Mirroring: DR & also used in conjunction with
Snapshots.

Phase 2 will require partitioning with a sliding window for data removal.

This is a basic transactional replication implementation at present.

All phases of Baskin will require performance tuning carried out, OMS and
RTDM will require advanced tuning.

There are a number of stored procedures used for Archiving and other
functions, the code is however not at an advanced level.

Phase 2 will require partitioning with a sliding window for data removal.
At present it will be powershell scripts that are used to call the
addition/removal of partitions.

Day to day backup activities are supported however there may be a
requirement to run adhoc backup and restore activities.

A good understanding on index maintenance is required. There may be a
requirement for custom jobs for phase 2 which are not supported.

A good understanding of SSIS would be useful.

Understanding Data warehouse designs will be required as interaction with
the Baskin Report developers and Solution designers will be required.

An understanding of SAS and how it works would be useful.

Understanding how new data feeds affect space requirements is key should be
able to do calculations to determine impact.
