Experience as a DBA would be helpful. OQI uses SQL Server 2012, and the candidate may need to assist our customer by recommending best practices. *Skills Requirements: * This candidate should demonstrate proficiency in the following: • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and work without supervision. • D Database Migration between life cycle phases (development, validation, staging, and prod). • SQL Server LINKED Server. • Writing dynamic SQL. • Stored procedures and functions (switching between the two). • SQL Server database maintenance. • Scheduling database jobs using SSIS packages. • Writing database queries based on requirements. • Query optimization, performance tuning and SQL Profiler. • Backups, restores, and clustering. • Analyzing, reviewing, and altering existing programs to increase operating efficiency and adapting to new requirements. • Providing technical and operational expertise and leadership to the SSA team. • Recommending, constructing, and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines in the development and delivery of database solutions to the client. • Providing guidance to a cross-functional team, and acting in a consulting capacity. • Conducting the formulation of solutions to customer problems based on prior experience and hands-on understanding of how the database supports SSA goals. • Documenting software. Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server 2012. Experience with JavaScript, C#, and Visual Studio.NET would also be helpful, but not required. *Education: * Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and 11 years of technical experience. 2. The incumbent shall conduct research for, and maintain the computer systems and utilities for commercial and Government engagements. The incumbent shall have extensive experience to analyze customers' needs, design a quality proposal then develop these customized solutions to customer/user problems. The incumbent will establish system parameters and formats; ensure hardware/software compatibility; and coordinate and/or modify user requirements in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and configuration capabilities. The incumbent will develop general and detailed documentation describing system specifications and operating instructions; and revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective development processes, data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage. The incumbent will be able to work productively as the sole developer on a project, and will be able to integrate with project teams.
