Job position: *Lead QA Engineer and Sr. QA Engineer* Location: *Monterey Park, CA* Duration: *Long Term* *Job Summary* Provide comprehensive quality assurance services to ensure quality systems are implemented. Responsible for establishing and implementing quality assurance and compliance processes for the IT organization. Works closely with IT leaders to develop and implement an overall quality maturity roadmap and plan for each IT functional area. Works with development testing and production teams to develop publish and implement software quality assurance plans. Generally assigned to one of three main testing areas: Performance, Automation, or Functional. *Major Responsibilities:* * Expert/lead technical role. Provides strategic direction guidance and integrated solutions to enterprise-wide quality engineering initiatives. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert. Works on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff. * Duties include: Leads the design and execution of QA test plans and validation procedures. Acts as expert resource to the systems application and business unit staff in all phases of testing. Researches and evaluates the most efficient and cost effective approach. Provide go/no go decisions on production implementations of new and modified software based on project quality. Recommends different methods and approaches to meet system objectives. * Contributes to the improvement of the development process from the start of the project. Consults with client and IT management through the project life cycle for the development and testing of systems. Provides guidance in the creation of test environment test plans and test scripts. Develops QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered software and improving application quality going forward. This includes reviewing for patterns of inefficiencies defects etc. Works with clients and IT to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology. * Manages third party test vendors as needed to execute test plans. Oversees the full life cycle test plan including test design and execution monitors the test cycles and reviews output. Assigns testing tasks reviews daily progress re-directs resources based on changing priorities or changing risks. Conducts regression tests and evaluates results. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Reviews performance issues and may use quantitative methods to measure application performance. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Creates automated test suites for functional and regression testing. Identifies and tracks software defects through the use of systematic tests to develop apply and maintain software quality standards. Consults with users on the analysis on alternative testing strategies. Ensures testing complies all application design specifications. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and enhancement of software. * Makes key recommendations /decisions on testing direction. Confers with business users application developers and others to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities performance requirements and interfaces. Constructs and tracks QA testing estimates and budgets. Creates the documentation for status and other testing activities. Identifies the need and evaluates and implements tools that support the testing environment. Recommends and implements new testing practices and procedures that are consistent with industry standards and practices. *Experience:* Banking product knowledge on capital markets products (derivatives, options & futures, fixed income, etc.) or Core Banking products (loans, deposits, treasury – FX & Money Market, Trade Finance) Data Warehousing & Data Integration Leadership qualities and experience of 12 years of which the last 6-7 years in Banking DW/Enterprise DW testing. *Technology:* Quality Assurance; Test Plans/cases, design and development; SQL; BDW *Qualifications:* * Typically has 5 to 7 years of IT and business experience with at least 3 years in Quality Assurance or Application Development * Proficiency in scripting languages experience with software test tools and extraordinary communications organization and problem solving skills. * Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Information Systems Business Administration or directly related field.
