looking for a *Linux Administrator*

Title: *Sr. Linux Administrator*
Location: *Monroe, NY*
Duration: *Contract, 3-6 month*
*F2F interview after telephonic.*




*Requirements:*

·  Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS or related discipline.

·  5+ years' experience with RHEL, CentOS, or Solaris
system administration in an enterprise environment.

·  5+ years' experience supporting infrastructure servers in an ISP
environment.

*Preferred Skills:*

·  Advanced enterprise level DNS and DHCP technical troubleshooting skills.

·  Enterprise Technologies (NFS, Kickstart procedures, performance tuning,
mail, security).

·  RPM repository and distribution administrative tasks.

·  Advanced Internet server protocols and utilities (DNS, SMTP, POP, IMAP,
HTTP/S, TLS, S/FTP, TCP/IP, UDP,

·  SSH, iptables).

·  Troubleshooting and problem solving skills with little supervision
(email, network, hardware, OS).

·  Ability to successfully handle the completion of multiple concurrent
assignments or related support mechanisms for escalation/resolution
purposes.

·  Understanding of cluster configurations and concepts, shell scripting
performance tuning.

·  Advanced skill level in SAN/NAS storage solutions (NetApp).

·  Advanced Skill level in LDAP/OpenLDAP configuration and support.

·  Enterprise backup solutions (Netbackup).

·  OS and/or software based clustering (Veritas, RedHat).

·  Security hardening and event monitoring (Nagios, CACTI, Solarwinds).

·  Advanced enterprise level skills in shell scripting and programming with
vi editor.

*Additional Skills:*

·  Perform resource monitoring, performance tuning, and scaling of
infrastructure as needed.

·  Maintenance and monitoring of customer facing enterprise class email
systems.

·  Responsible for functionality of enterprise level DNS infrastructure and
other selective business applications.

·  Keep abreast of latest changes and feature availability for UNIX/Linux,
email/webmail, and other assigned applications.

·  Configure, monitor, and manage physical storage and filesystems.

·  Document Linux configurations and procedures, participate in environment
planning meetings.

·  Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades, and
troubleshooting of OS, DNS, NFS, SAN,

·  SMTP, IP protocols, network routing/firewall issues.

·  Participate in on-call rotation and work to resolve critical issues 24/7.
