"The Senior Information Security Engineer will be responsible for
engineering security solutions and ensuring that information security
requirements are embedded in the efforts of others. The ideal candidate
will have a strong knowledge of network security technologies, standard
operating systems (client and server), Active Directory & Group Policy
Objects, Forensic analysis, and vulnerability management tools.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Information Security Engineering.

• Build solutions (tools & processes) that help ensure the confidentiality,
integrity, and availability of Regeneron’s information assets.

• Must have a solid understanding of Cloud Security

• Ensure the appropriate security requirements are part of the Systems
Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and that they are met.

• Advise peers and partners as to good security practice and ensure
embedded requirements are communicated and met

• Advise the Senior Manager, Information Security team members about
emerging threats, evaluating and recommending tactical workarounds as well
as long-term strategies

• Ensure compliance to standards, policies, and procedures

The candidate must have practical problem solving and solid trouble
shooting skills with a working knowledge of design, implementation, and
maintenance of:

• Network design and architecture

• Active Directory

• Vulnerability Scanning

• Encryption

• IDS/IPS

• Web Filtering & proxy

• VPN technologies

• Multi-factor authentication systems

• Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware detection software

• In depth knowledge of vulnerability assessments, and compliancy (HIPAA,
SOX, PCI)

• Excellent written and verbal skills

When needed, the Senior Information Security Engineer may provide
specialized security support for other situations that fall outside the
Information Security Engineering realm, such as high-impact events due to
reasons other than security.

The Senior Information Security Engineer must demonstrate maturity in the
following areas:

• High levels of integrity in the conduct of personal and professional
affairs

• Calmness and clarity of thought under pressure

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Ability to maintain the goals and culture of the organization

• Ability to understand the values of team members and to motivate them
appropriately

• Understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to drive
results toward those objectives

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field desirable
(equivalent work experience ok)

• Industry recognized security–related certification, including CISSP/CISM,
CEH, GISP, GSEC, SSCP, GISF, etc. preferred.

• Interface with 3rd party partners and Regeneron business units when needed

• Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to understand key
concepts and communicate with technical staff, lines of business and senior
management

• Proven ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all
levels in a matrixed environment, as well as external vendors and service
providers, to ensure that segregation and overlapping roles are identified
and coordinated

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform in a
command-and-control role under pressure, and the ability to manage multiple
priorities with competing demands for resources

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficient in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multicultural
business environment

• 5-10 years of experience in system security engineering, design,
maintenance and testing

• A strong background in networking, proxies, Cloud Security, firewalls,
VPN, security assessments, and access control

• Prior experience in a Pharmaceutical environment is highly desirable

• In depth technical knowledge of information processing platforms,
operating systems and networks, security technology associated with
networking infrastructure components, remote access products, single
sign-on, firewalls, computer system architecture, data security, and
auditing techniques and risk analysis principles
