*Duration: 17+ Months* RESPONSIBILITIES: Engagement Description: 1. Solid Java developer with hands-on experience analyzing, developing and maintaining large scale, mission critical applications in a multi-platform J2EE, J2SE, and web systems environment 2. Works with the front-end web developers and DBA¿s to deliver a rich experience for users 3. Develops programs which interact with complex databases and communication protocols 4. Codes with future proofing and re-usability of code in mind and fully aware of the effects of certain coding practices 5. Interfaces with senior technical staff to explore and suggest strategic technical solutions 6. Monitors work against the production schedule and produce progress updates, reporting issues or technical difficulties to senior colleagues routinely 7. Responsible for work quality and process as well as that of the wider team, ensuring it meets the team’s and corporate technical standards 8. Takes responsibility for technical documentation, ensuring that all work carried out is tested, well documented, and accessible to all parties 9. Applies relevant design, coding and documentation standards as required 10. Ensures appropriate quality standards are applied to all design and development work QUALIFICATIONS: Top Three Skills/Experience: 1. Minimum 3-5 years JAVA/J2EE/J2SE development experience, preferably gained on multi-tier web-based business applications 2. Minimum 3-5 years working with standard J2EE development frameworks 3. Minimum 1 -2 years of JAVA batch programming experience Required Skills/Experience: 1. Minimum 3-5 years JAVA/J2EE/J2SE development experience, preferably gained on multi-tier web-based business applications 2. Minimum 1-2 years building ColdFusion web applications 3. Knowledge and experience of working with Spring, Hibernate, Struts2, Maven, SQL, XML, Tag Libraries JSPs, JavaScript and JQuery 4. End-to-end understanding of common SDLC models and artifacts 5. Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively understand and translate product and business requirements into technical solutions 6. Excellent documentation skills, experience creating multiple conceptual design and detail design documents 7. Comprehensive unit and functional testing experience to ensure code quality 8. Experience in project-based and team-focused working environment 9. Able to apply structured thinking, simplifying complex problems into component parts 10. Able to think ahead in order to establish an efficient and appropriate course of action for self and others 11. Strong communication skills; able to get one's message understood clearly by adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and the nature of the information 12. Takes a proactive approach to work without close supervision 13.
