*Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):*


·         Supports the Security Officer.

·         Provides peer leadership in the security group with other
technology specialists within the business units.

·         Plans security initiatives and events.

·         Oversees security evaluations, implementations of products,
software integration, configuration development, operational procedures,
and security policies.

·         Evaluates and recommends security best practices.

·         Provides technology assessment, process development and training
related to security.

·         Creates and modifies policies, standards and procedures.

·         Evaluates maintenance and provides reporting for security
scanners, including intrusion detection systems and vulnerability scanners.

·         Performs other duties as assigned

*Knowledge/Skills/Experience:*

*Basic (Required)*:

·         Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Computer Science

·         Minimum of 3 years of networking and 2 years of security-related
work experience

·         Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

·         Ability to balance business needs vs. security concerns to arrive
at an optimal solution for the business

·         Well-organized, action-oriented team player with the ability to
prioritize daily work, change directions quickly, and work on multiple
projects simultaneously

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the
ability to communicate complex technical information in non-technical terms

·         Ability to provide technical leadership to operating companies
and business units

·         Ability to provide technical leadership to a team of less
experienced users and engineers

·         Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

The ideal candidate possesses design and implementation experience with:


•    Documenting and publicizing security policies, procedures and
standards.
•    Intrusion detection (tcpdump, Snort, ISS Real Secure, event
correlation, time  synchronization)
•    Security Scanning tools (Nessus, Nmpa, ISS Real Secure, Qualys Scan)
•    Firewall technologies (Cisco PIX, CheckPoint, Netfiler/iptables)
•    Incident response
•    Computer forensics (Backtrack)
•    PKI and encryption (symmetric, asymmetric, hash, message digest)
•    Authentication (LDAP, passwords, PINs, tokens, smart cards, digital
certificates, biometrics, etc.)
•    Risk assessment
•    Data classification
•    Security audit
•    VPN technologies (PPTP, Ipsec, Cisco GRE, PKI, IKE)
•    OSI and TCP/IP model
•    Network server/client communication protocols (SSL, SSH2)
•    LAN/WAN design
•    Routers, switches and hubs
•    Load balancers
•    Frame-relay, ISDN, ATM, FDDI
•    Ethernet and Token-Ring
•    Routing Protocols (RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP)
•    Network addressing
•    Subnetting
•    Access Control Lists
•    Protocol and network analysis tools
•    Wireless networking

·            Experience and skills with securing and auditing UNIX
operating systems like Red Hat Linux, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX/OS400, and
Microsoft Windows are necessary.
