Position: Sr. net Developer Location: Carrollton TX Duration: Long Terms Note: MUST BE US Citizens or GC Holders only. Description Sr. Software Engineer (Carrollton) Snapshot: Thomson Reuters is looking for an innovative and skilled Sr. Software Engineer to develop award-winning products for our government revenue management solutions. The Sr. Software Engineer has a real passion for software development with focus on good engineering practices. Well qualified candidate will have contributed to open source projects, have participated in technical communities, interest groups or have written or spoken in public about their technical ideas. This individual will have a full range of responsibilities including: • Developing and maintaining the Property Valuation Appraisal application suite which includes .NET versions on a SQL Server backend, as well as Web Services and API’s for integrating external products. • Integrating software applications and modules in accordance with agreed upon specifications • Work with technology leadership and development teams to problem solve and enhance the product Participate in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work Mission and expected outcomes for this role Our platforms have a unique synthesis of human intelligence, industry expertise and innovative technology that provides governing bodies the ability to derive operational efficiency, the knowledge to act, enabling them to make better decisions faster affecting their revenues. Expected outcomes for this role include: • Develop software using Agile practices, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies • Improve performance and productivity by working as part of a tightknit team on deadline driven project assignments • Execute on provided design • Create and execute unit testing and integration testing ensuring module meets requirements • Partner with management and cross-functional business teams to work towards continuous product improvement • Exhibit a strong presence in a low-ego, approachable and collaborative style Areas of Ownership: The Sr. Software Engineer will: • Typically work on one project at a time and as a member of the project team(s) or as part of a specialist cross-project team on multiple developments • Work on smaller, minimally complex projects or a particular system or application within larger projects that requires a singular area of expertise • Create and maintain all required technical documentation / manual related to assigned components to ensure supportability • Implement solutions as directed within standards • Provides status updates for own scope of work within projects • Participates in internal team and status meetings in an Agile Scrum environment • May provide technical support to operations or other development teams Competencies required for the role: Respected software engineer with demonstrated success constantly growing ones craft, leaning new tools and techniques, and sharing these within and among teams. A strong entrepreneurial background and track record of increasing responsibility in a reasonable time frame. • Knowledge and experience with agile software development process • Full stack engineering experience will be a huge plus • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply technical knowledge to business needs • Exposure and/or experience in one or more technical areas (e.g. programming language, application support) • Proficient in object oriented design principles and automated testing strategies for web applications • Experiences of code refactoring, design patterns, design driven development, continuous integration, building highly scalable applications, and application security • Computer Science four year degree or related degree or equivalent work experience • Enjoys complex problem solving and ability to push the innovation on solutions • Self-starter with ability to tailor and demonstrates strong ownership • Effective communicator with good written and oral communication skills • Enthusiastic, high energy, motivated, and driven professional to help your team excel • Experience with one or more of the following: Programming Languages: • .NET (C#) and design patterns (MVC) • Service oriented architecture (webApi) • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, CSS and responsive design • Strong knowledge of AngularJS • Strong knowledge of unit and automation testing frameworks (Moq, nunit) Database Skills: • Microsoft SQL Server focused • Performance tuning of database tables and stored procedures Comments : This is a Senior Software Engineer position-Looking for 5 plus years of experience Programming Languages: • .NET (C#) and design patterns (MVC) • Service oriented architecture (webApi) • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, CSS and responsive design • Strong knowledge of AngularJS • Strong knowledge of unit and automation testing frameworks (Moq, nunit) Database Skills: • Microsoft SQL Server focused • Performance tuning of database tables and stored procedures Candidates need to be tested on the latest version of .Net Please submit candidates who have cleared the test and have scored 80% of above.
