QA Automation Engineer
As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be working with our core development
team in an Agile environment to introduce and execute test automation into
every step in the software life cycle to support the QA organization in its
automation goals. You will use your skills to develop test automation from
scratch to suit the needs for new and existing application testing. You
will be directly responsible for assuring quality on a small number of
simultaneous development projects delivered against different schedules.
You will be responsible for establishing and reporting quality metrics on a
regular basis as well as building/maintaining a library of automated tests.
You should be able to demonstrate creativity in defining and reaching QA
goals and have experience working in the code base of visual studio/team
foundation server to improve testability.
*Specific Responsibilities:*
- Interact with project managers and development teams to develop a
strong understanding of the project and testing objectives.
- Work with cross-functional teams (Architects, Developers, QA) in test
automation activities across the organization
- Design and implement automation strategies to improve the quality of
PCG’s products
- Automate and document tests from existing test cases/scenarios and new
feature specifications
- Help investigate, evaluate, select, and integrate best available
framework/tool solutions as required for test automation success
- Appreciate and consider the "big picture" while dealing with
implementation details
- Work to continuously improve test automation concepts and best
practices, automation testing strategies, and test case design
specifications
- Contribute to production/documentation of automation templates,
examples, and training collateral
- Support and mentor other QA engineers to be successful at producing or
execution in-sprint automation and achieving a common goal and vision.
- Participate on a Scrum team, including all Agile and Scrum related
ceremonies
- Develop and document test artifacts like harness scripts when needed
by the QA organization to improve the testability of our products
- Develop Test Automation frameworks for large scale projects from an
end to end perspective including front end, middle tier services and back
end data providers.
- Conduct security, smoke, regression, load and performance automated
tests
- Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team
members
- Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate
potential quality issues immediately to management
- Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design
specifications and requirements
*Required Experience/Skills:*
- 5+ years of relevant QA automated testing experience.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Expertise in database testing in Microsoft SQL Server environments
including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored
procedures, jobs, triggers and replication.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools (i.e., Selenium or comparable)
Experience with automation development and design experience for the Web
Applications. Ability to learn and adapt, and the ability to assimilate new
technologies quickly is a must. Self-motivated, results driven, and able to
work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Experience working
in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Ability to effectively
prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Proven
analytical and problem-solving abilities Familiarity with QA tools and
techniques, bug tracking systems, test design and execution. Strong
understanding of SDLC processes and the QA lifecycle and methodology.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment Experience with healthcare
applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience and in depth knowledge on claim adjudication process
- Detailed knowledge of 837/835 EDI formats including all segments and
loops. Ability to manipulate 837/835 EDI files to generate a wide variety
of valid claims
