**Job Title: **Tech Writer*** *Start date: ASAP* *Location: Arlington, TX* *Contract Duration: 3 to 6 months contract** *Rate : 40 $/hr * **Job Description*:* **Senior Technical Writer** **Job Family Responsibilities:* *Writes and edits technical documentation. Rewrites and edits existing technical documentation. Researches and compiles source data using technical documents, drawings, and specifications. Participates in validation and verification processes to ensure compliance with customer requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** Work Experience: Minimum of five (5) years experience in a technical field such as, electrical engineering, software engineering. or training. Technical writing or technical editing experience may be substituted for experience in a technical field. Minimum five (5) years total specialized experience in any of the following: • Technical Writer • Technical Editor. **Knowledge and Experience:** Special Requirements: Experience with current version of Microsoft Windows OS. Expert knowledge of all Microsoft Office suites of products. Working knowledge of desktop publishing programs. Demonstrated knowledge and/or ability in the following: Knowledge and use of Technical writing skills. Good computer skills, ability to converse with software engineers and understand technical details, good use of English grammar and punctuation. Good oral and written English communications skills Understanding of software development processes including CMM. Use of documentation standards. Compliance with applicable company policies and procedures. ****Direction of Others:** Provide general guidance or train support and/or professional staff. **Key Working Relationships:** Primarily intra-organizational contacts and external contacts. **Education** Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, and/or certificate in technical writing.
