Therefore, it as absolutely necessary that all candidates have a solid experience working with monitoring tools. Compuware would be the ideal, but he is definitely willing to accept candidates with other relevant monitoring background (such as Foglight, HP, IBM or BMC monitoring tools). It is also necessary that all candidates have a background in Enterprise Operations. Also , Unix, as noted in the job description, is a ? must have. ? Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding this requirement and please continue to submit qualified candidates. *Minimum Requirements:* The ideal candidate will have excellent technical, organizational and communication skills. The ideal individual will possess *strong experience in Java architecture, application containers (preferably Weblogic 8.1, 9.2 and Tomcat 5.x and 6.x), Iplanet and J2EE application monitoring tools.* Specific requirements include: · 2-4 years of hands-on experience using *J2EE monitoring tools (Compuware * *Server Vantage and Vantage Analyzer)* · Proven ability to design monitoring solutions relevant to business domain problems · 2-4 years working knowledge of *Weblogic 8.1, 9.x and Tomcat application * server administration and their effective monitoring and tuning techniques would be considered a strong plus · Experience with Quest Foglight and other application performance monitoring solution product suites desired not required · Ability and willingness to work effectively in a business-critical production environment · Experience supporting applications running on Windows platform would be considered a strong plus · Experience with Solaris 2.8, 2.9 and Solaris 10 zones desirable · Strong experience with SUN jvm instrumentation and debugging in both UNIX and windows environment is a must have · Computer Science degree or related field Applicant must meet MOST of these requirements. *Description:* This individual will be a System Engineer working with our MCI team as part of the Application Performance Monitoring and Management (APMM) initiative. This role will report to the MCI team lead in addition to working with other consultants within the Application Technologies group. *Job Responsibilities* As a System Engineer on the APMM team within Infrastructure Engineering and Support, the individual will have the following responsibilities: · Install, configure and build out a solid and robust APMM monitoring solution. - · Partner with APMM FTEs to review and implement monitoring requirements from the JEE and applications teams. - · Involve with day-to-day support of the existing monitoring infrastructure within the Application Technologies space. - · Involve with Compuware APMM solution planning, implementation and - migration from Quest Foglight solution. - · Assist application teams with migration to the Compuware APMM solution. - · Partner with application and JEE teams to troubleshoot production issues. - · Involve with requirements gathering for new applications infrastructure - monitoring. - Partner with external teams on application performance monitoring and - infrastructure projects - Manage and track application performance monitoring vendor tickets and - patch management.
