Job Title: *UNIX System Administrator* Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 6+ Months *They want someone with deep Linux/Unix experience. LOCAL CANDIDATED ONLY.* We are looking for someone that: • Is a real team player, with leadership ability • Is a smart, agile, flexible thinker; knows what s/he thinks and why • Is a clear and concise communicator in both written and verbal forms • Is outgoing, proactive, extroverted, articulate • Has a track record of identifying creative and appropriate techniques and solutions • Is a cultural fit for BabyCenter: collaborative, hard working, positive attitude, bias for action over analysis, works well in a fast-paced environment, multi-taker, and proactive! *Specific Job Responsibilities: • Administer/manage/maintain/upgrade, at a high level of competency, a variety of technical platforms including: **o RedHat Linux AS/ES Operating Systems o Cisco Routers/Switches/VPN Concentrators /Firewalls o Apache/JBoss/Tomcat/Mod_JK Application Servers* o Netscaler/BigIP Load Balancers o VMWare ESX Server o Nagios/MRTG/SiteScope Monitoring Systems o HP c-class Blade and DL hardware platforms o Network Appliance Filers • Provide operational support for cross-departmental Engineering/Development teams. • Write and maintain professional documentation in support of compliance initiatives including: o SOX o PCI o CIA • Participate in a 24x7 NOC monitoring team. • Maintain and tune software development environments including Staging/QA/Integration/Development using a variety of custom and commercial tools. • Maintain network and operating system security through custom and commercial tools. Required Background: • More than 5 years experience as a System Administrator in medium to large, heterogeneous technical environments.
