Below are the details.* Title: Developer Project Status: 24 months Type: contract Location: MIDDLETOWN, NJ *Project Description:* (What project will the contractor be working on?) AT&T Labs, Managed CPE Service Development and Testing organization is seeking a candidate for an Engineering/Testing position for managed services development. Day-to-day activities will consist of working in a hands-on lab facility in Middletown, NJ that supports service development and customer activities for custom managed offers. This technology role is responsible for providing design validation, testing solutions and proactive Tier IV support for Custom Solution deals for Core & Edge Technologies serving large Managed Services customer requirements. Candidates must possess very strong hands-on experience with multiple data technologies to develop custom managed service offerings for AT&Ts large customers. This position is responsible to develop and certify solutions to support customer requirements to be implemented into production network within a tight feature-rich schedule. Experience in testing and supporting MPLS Core and Edge Technologies is required. *Job Description:* (What will the contractor do on that project?) This person will lead key technical projects, perform hands-on testing and train implementation groups and operations personnel to ensure that the implementation and support of all services are introduced in a quality, certified manner. A thorough understanding of Layer2 and Layer3 VPN technologies, CoS, MPLS, BGP are required. Topics of interest include: performance/SLA guarantees on VPNs, traffic engineering, control messaging storms, scale, quality, AT&T network evolution, VoIP protocols, voice/video over ATM/IP characteristics, potential hardware platforms, features / functioning of AT&Ts voice, video and data services, premises hardware reliability, engineering economics and bandwidth utilization. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to handle multiple custom service development and test projects. Cisco *CCIE certification and 8 years of data networking, internetworking experience is * *required*. The service development testing responsibilities will cover: a) Working in a team to develop, test, and document technical solutions in support of Custom Solutions. Work with Planning Organization and other members of the technical team to fully articulate a solution that can be supported in the field. b) Defining, designing and building the test-bed that will be required to test the technical solution. c) Testing all aspects of the solution including end-to-end integration, proof-ofconcept, performance, design validation and re-design, component, and manageability. Testing of CPE and feature inter-working with AT&T global transport services and AGN/CBB AT&T infrastructure. d) Working with vendors to fix all outstanding hardware and software bugs contained in the vendor equipment. e) Authoring very detailed, in-depth technical engineering and troubleshooting guidelines to be used by service supporting organizations to implement and manage the solutions. f) Providing training and support to network engineers, Operations personnel, pre-sales and post-sale designers. g) Support Engineering and Operations teams in the initial phase of customer implementations. This role requires in-depth technical knowledge and understanding of Managed Services solutions. Required expertise and skills are as follows: a) Strong technical skills with in depth knowledge of data networking and networking protocols (WAN and LAN). Expertise in all layers of data communications, customer applications and associated technologies. b) Strong skills and experience with IP routers and LAN switches. Extensive knowledge of IP routing and IP routing protocols. Deep knowledge of QoS techniques and class of service/QoS, MPLS technologies. c) Very strong hands-on skills with extensive experience in the design and construction of complex lab simulations utilizing numerous types of data networking equipment ranging from routers and switches to Layer 1 devices d) Hands-on experience and proficiency with all Cisco routers and catalyst switches – Examples include Cisco ISR/ASR Routers, Cisco WAE/WAAS, 831, 1800, 2800, 3745, 3800, 3550,3750, 4506, 6509, 7200vxr, 7300, 12016, 12416 and 7600 routers Expertise in GSR PE and CE testing related to AT&T Managed Services AGN and eVPN QoS applications and performance areas is mandatory.
