The experience should be both recent and extensive (the more the better). If the candidates don't know SAN but are familiar with testing operating systems (HP-UX, Windows, etc.), this is not useful to us. If the candidates know both OS testing concepts as well as have a solid SAN testing background, that's a plus. - We don't really need system administrators; we need people who will be able to hit the ground running and help us test the EVA (which may involve doing some system administration but that's maybe 5-10% of the job and not a primary focus). - If the candidates are familiar with both Windows and Unix (HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, Linux) that would be better than a candidate who only had experience with either Windows or Unix (not both). Detailed knowledge of the I/O stack in the operating system is most desirable if possible (not just experience using the OS, administering it, etc.).
