Descriptions:
We currently have an opening for a Quality Data Analyst in Seattle. This
position will ensure that the data produced in the GEL laboratory meets
established standards and that that all issues with regard to generating,
evaluating and reporting data are handled in a timely fashion. The position
will also ensure the accurate transmission of data to customers by
monitoring and tracking all pipeline related processes.
The responsibilities of this position include:
" Monitoring a Quality Control Pipeline for the different microarray
platforms in the GEL;
" Helping develop standards of Quality for all platforms;
" Tracking all deviations from quality standards;
" Helping update quality metrics for new or modified methods;
" Providing regular assessments on the status of quality for all
platforms;
" Taking responsibility for making sure quality deviations are quickly
acted upon and executive team members are notified;
" This position requires direct involvement from the experimental
design stage through document approval, coordinating the transfer of
materials, overseeing and monitoring the execution of experiments as they
move through Rosetta's high throughput gene expression lab (GEL), and
assisting scientists in the quality review and analysis of the data;
" Maintaining accurate records of any deviations so they may tracked
over time;
" Working with other stakeholder groups across the organization to
understand mutual needs and integrate plans. Working with team members to
assist them in defining pipelines/flow for new processes and new technology
areas;
" Maintaining accurate and detailed records, timelines, and status
reports is a key responsibility of this position.
The qualifications for this position are:
" Minimum education/training includes a Ph.D. and 2-4 years of
relevant experience. Degree in a scientific discipline (preferably biology,
molecular biology or informatics) preferred;
" A background in life sciences, engineering, or medical devices;
" 3+ years of experience with gene expression microarray lab methods;
" Ability to implement new and emerging industry best practices;
" Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills
required;
" Excellent organizational leadership skills required;
" In-depth knowledge of data analysis / mining tools (Rosetta
Resolver, R, Matlab or equivalent tool);
" In-depth knowledge of Affymetrix GeneChip and Genotyping Platforms;
" Experience with experimental design strategies and analytical
methods for evaluating microarray data.
The actual job title for this position is "Data Quality Analyst", this job
requires skills from statistician qualifications but also requires
experiences in microarray analysis for gene expression and genotyping on
both Affymetrix and Illumina platforms. Minimum education/training includes
a Ph.D. and 2-4 years of relevant experience. Degree in a scientific
discipline (preferably biology, molecular biology or informatics) preferred.
Excellent communication and customer relationship management skills
required. In-depth knowledge of data analysis / mining tools (Rosetta
Resolver, R, Matlab or equivalent tool) is highly desired. Knowledge of
programming languages such as C++ is a plus
